Many people (over the age of 60) might remember the AA and RAC motorcycle and sidecar combo coming to their rescue. They used to salute members who displayed their chrome and yellow AA badge, mostly on a car grille. Some say if they didn't salute...beware as a police speed trap could be just around the corner! In 1950 AA Membership reached 1 million. These motorcycle combinations were reliable and rugged 500cc, single cylinder machines and in regular use until the early 1960s. The salute was discouraged after 1962. They really were the 4th Emergency Service to many of our parents and grandparents! Superb period illustration heatpress printed on a hard wearing chocolate brown, 100% cotton Fruit-of-the-Loom product.
